A Dream Comes True

It all began on Monday, August 23rd around 8 o’clock in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. After the crowning, my mind was a tornado of feelings and emotions. I was so shocked that I almost didn’t even notice Stefania placing the crown on my head. I was amazed and very happy to see hundreds of Mexicans with our flag cheering and singing “Cielito Lindo” all together like one big family. It truly touched my heart.
After the official crowning I joined all of my friends at LAX for the official Miss Universe after party which was a blast. We all had a very good time and then it was time for me to return to my room in Mandalay Bay. Back at the hotel I shared some time with my family and began packing all of my things for my move the next day to New York.
The next morning I woke up and I couldn’t believe I was Miss Universe! A couple of hours later I was on a plane flying to New York City for the first time. After a long flight I arrived to my new apartment and I knew I was going to like it a lot!
This past week has been very busy. I have had many interviews with lots of very interesting people and shows such as “The Today Show”, “Acceso Total”, “Al Rojo Vivo”, “The Late Night Show with David Letterman”, “Despierta América”, “Levántate” and many others.
I am already getting used to living here in New York. The entire Miss Universe team has been wonderful to me and I am very grateful for all their help.

Miss Universe 2010 was very very disappointing. It was MANIPULATED. There were girls much better than Mexico like AUSTRALIA, PHILIPPINES, IRELAND and many others. It is a shame because I was a fan of Miss Universe, but not this year. I guess I will have to look for another pageant to follow.

It is a good idea go away and look for something better to do than writing bad things about a beautiful woman only because she was not born in your country. This is for everyone that can’t accept the results of a contest. All of you should remember that the MU 2009 winner was not the better when she won. Just watch the videos “camino a la corona 2009” vs “camino a la corona 2010”. MU org. really worked hard to transform Stef and they did a good job, the change was of 180 degrees. In 2009 many people said that miss Rep. Dominicana was too much better than the winner (look the place of the last 5 finalist). It was a mistake? or It was a destiny? I wonder how miss Rep. Dominicana would look like today. Many people said bad things about Stef. Many things were true but she worked hard and this made her to improve, congratulations to Stef and MU org. The true is Ximena looks too much better in 2010 than Stef in 2009 and I am sure she will work hard too. All of you just relax and wait. You will see that results. I am not from Mexico, Venezuela or Rep. Dominicana but I am a fan of Dayana la Diosa aka Dayana Mendoza.

Ximena!! aqui los mexicanos estamos muy orgullosos de ti.
En esta vida la mayoria de las personas no estan acostumbradas a aplaudir ni a reconocer el triunfo de otros y eso es muy triste, pero no te debe de importar porque en todos lo ámbitos pasa este tipo de cosas; en lo artístico, en el futbol o simplemente a alguna persona que la subieron de puesto en su trabajo, siempre va a haber alguien inconforme o envidioso.
Lo que has hecho por ti a nivel personal y el ganar este titulo tambien trae una GRAN ALEGRÍA para muchisimas personas y eso es lo que realmente importa.
Has tu mejor esfuerzo en representar a México y en dejar muy en alto a nuestro país.

Please do not forget we didn't see Miss Mexico with our real eyes, we saw her throught the camera. So I feel all judges judgements are completely right because of their experiences and a real seeing. I love u Miss Mexico.

Ximena, you were an early favorite of mine to win ever since you were crowned Nuestra Belleza Mexico last September! I found this year's competition to be very strong and my other favorites were Ireland, Australia, Ukraine, South Africa, Japan, Bahamas, New Zealand & Uruguay!
By the way, whom did you think would win the Miss UNIVERSE title?

she used interpret because English is not her mother language writing and speaking are two very different things, she is not used to speaking English because she lives in Mexico, you don't want to add pressure to the final question. Ximena was very smart by choosing an interpreter

It is expected that Ximena be better than Stef. You need to see the videos, interviews, and pictures that Stefa had during 2009, they were not good. Stefa performance improved over the time and her image improved a lot after the hair cut and make up. Ximena has more background than Stef. Also, she has better eyes and body than Stefa. Ximena don’t worry for your hair, it looks so healthy.

SANDRA, parece que la que necesita ayuda "urgente" eres tu. Yo te puedo recomendar un oftalmologo. Si no sabes, es un medico que te puede examinar los ojos, puede que estes perdiendo la vista periferica por eso no vez bien la periferia, como el pelo, la corona, etc . La corona la tiene ahora Ximena en la cabeza si la puedes ver.

True, you say that just because she´s mexican right? Even if you believe it or not, she´s the most beautiful girl in the world. When I saw the final 15th contestants, inmediatly I Knew Ximena was the best, and also remember the judges see not only faces or bodies, what it´s inside it is important too, and only a blind couldn´t see everything she has (The most beautiful face even if you don´t think so), and I´d like to know in which way you say it´s been manipulated???

Being entitled as Miss Universe, you should know how to express yourself to the world- learn the basic, and that's learning how to speak English. English is considered as a universal language. You don't need to have English as the primary language for you to know how to communicate with the world by using the language. come-on! what's the use of the word "UNIVERSE" then? Other contestants try to find words to answer th questions in English. If they had not done any effort and get a translator to find the amazing words for them, do they get a better chance of winning the crown? If Ms Mexico delivers it in English, will she be confident enough with her answer? I'm not against anybody else. just a thought!

When I was watching the contest and I saw that the brazilian wasn't in the top 15, I said: I'm pretty sure Mexico will win this year! You are doing such a great job, and you are the most beautiful miss universe that I've ever seen!

Hey, ignore the bad comments... they just don't have nothing to do, so they come here and say this cause they are JEALOUS! I really liked you, and if they chose you, is because YOU DESERVED! And all those things they are saying about you with an interpreter... well, I think you were really smart, and if the owners of the contest let you, who are the stupid ones that come here to say bad things to say you can't have an interpreter? nobody has to speak english perfectly!

For those who said Miss Universe 2010 was manipulated, I´m really sorry to tell you that you're probably Venezuelan, ´cause only Venezuelans think Mexico wasn´t a good choice. I do believe this has been one of the most transparent edition of Miss Universe. Mexico was the best choice, she fits all the requirements to become Miss Universe. Marelisa Gibson was really beautiful, but she had 3 bad points: 1- they over applied botox on her lips, 2- her nose was MUCH better before the plastic cirurgy, sehe lost beautr after that. 3 - he didn´t have buttocks (soory, but it´s true)
