El Salvador

I went to El Salvador this week to work with PSI and Pasmo, with the campaign Hombres de Verdad. I got to see Rebeca Moreno again, who is Miss El Salvador, and we had a lot of fun together. The Vice President of El Salvador, Ana Vilma de Escobar, attended the launch of Hombres de Verdad here in San Salvador with us, everybody was very happy to have her support and help. We had lunch where we sat and got to know each other, she is great! I’m very happy that in El Salvador they have such an amazing woman in power. I had the opportunity to talk with sex workers and go to a brothel where we did an exercise that helped them to know more about the diseases HIV/AIDS and the many ways they have to prevent it. We went to a Hospital as well, and I talked to two people that were infected with HIV/AIDS about ten years ago, so they were telling me their experiences and how they keep on going with their lives. It was a great opportunity for me because I got to learn more about their feelings once they contract the diseases. This afternoon, we went to a local truck stop where we had the chance to play games and learn the different ways to protect ourselves and our partners from HIV/AIDS. The people there got tested, they were very excited for that too :). Tomorrow, I’m meeting more local media and will have interviews about my trip to San Salvador. In the afternoon, I’ll be visiting children infected by HIV/AIDS at the Benjamin Bloom Hospital. I wish more people could get involved with Organizations like Pasmo, and help to inform others that don’t know and need education. I’m fortunate that I can wear the sash for a entire year because this allows me to get listened to by the media in order to get to as many people as I can to learn. But I don’t do it because I’m Miss Universe, I do it because I’m someone else in the world like all of you trying to do the best I can to make it better, and you should too. So talk to your family, talk to your partner and get tested.

i guess venezuela will have a back to back wiss universe winner for the first time in miss universe history. Venezuelan beauties were so highly evolved and more sophisticated compared with the rest.
