Miss Universe 2010, the 59th Miss Universe pageant, will be held possibly in Croatia in July.The venue will be announced soon, Stefanía Fernández from Venezuela, Miss Universe 2009, will crown her successor at the end of this event. More than 80 countries and territories will compete for the title and the pageant will broadcast live on NBC and Telemundo.

ONE OF MY DREAMS IS TO SEE A MISS HAITI IN MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT. Miss Haiti does not participate in MU since 1989. I have a great memory of Gerthie David, Miss Haiti 1975, who impressed the international judges, among them Jean-Claude Killy (Olympic champ) and Sarah Vaugham (America’s performer), with her elegance and simplicity, at the Miss Universe in San Salvador (the most notable jury in MU history). She was the second black delegate to be named vice-Miss Universe in MU history. Great MISS HAITI UNIVERSE GERTHIE DAVID

I was a child when Gerthie David was in the pageant, but I have since seen the footage. From observing that old footage, Ms. David would have been an excellent Miss Universe. She was the most impressive in that pageant, but it seems that the times were not yet ready for a woman of color. That is unfortunate, but we've come a long way with (4) women of color that have won the title. (2) from T&T, (1) from USA, and the last from Botswana (African Continent).

You said the pageant will be held in July, but on the website it says Aug/sept. I'm not really sure, but I wish that they would post the correct information.
