NBC, Asian Initiatives and a Surprise for you!

posted by Dayana Mendoza at 05:03pm on 02/06/2009

After I woke up in the morning, and finally stopped being lazy, I cooked a very nice breakfast and I was ready to go to the gym, and then to my English class. I’m still working on my pronunciation, I’m very bad with the "th" (is sooooo hard!!!). Tuesday was too fun! I had an interview for Telemundo in the morning, I went to the gym and afterwards, Stevi, Crystle and I got ready to go to the Pink Panther II premiere, and I totally looved it. We met Aishwara Rai, Steve Martin and his beautiful daughters. We had popcorn and cotton candy, which I also love :p. The next day Stevi, Crystle and I went to the NBC store to sign autographs and take pictures with the costumers, so while we are talking with one of the costumers, this little girl, who was nine years old, came to us with her New Jersey Junior sash. She started giving us classes about pageants and protocol. Sincerely, I was so impressed that we all could learn so much about pageants thanks to this little girl and her sister, they were very cute. I ran to the gym and then I went to Zang Toi's to do the fitting for the Asian Initiatives Young Professional's Gala on Thursday night. Then I went back home, I had lunch in almost 10 minutes and I started getting ready to go to the Action Gala Aid for the World, where General Colin Powell did an amazing speech. I think I can say that it was the best speech I’ve ever heard. It was an honor to be there listening to him. The girls came with me to the Gala too, and we all agreed that Aid for the World touched everybody’s heart, all the experiences they shared with us, and I was so proud to support an organization that really feels, lives, and dies for this job, fighting every day with the willing of having a better world, a better future, fighting against anything to help others, cause by the end of the day, we can all go back home and put our head in our pillows, but sadly, not all of us can say that we did something today for someone, for the world. I believe that if we could all do a little something for someone that needs it, just to help a lady with her heavy bags that she's carrying from the market, or even give our seat on the bus, or the subway to the lady that is pregnant or to the grandma next to us, we could all make a better world. Can you do at list a little something for someone without being asked and without asking for anything in return?
This Thursday, I went to acting school, after spending 40 minutes walking around lost!!! I finally got there, very late by the way (I really hate being late!). I got kind of nervous, I’m not use to schools hahaha :p, but then I was very glad that I was there. Miguel was my teacher, and we spoke Spanish the whole time, so it was easier for me to get everything, and I really got excited with everything I learned that day. After that I got my nails done and got ready, because Crystle and I were going to the Asian Initiatives Young Professional's Gala in support of the American Cancer Eastern Division. The NY Asian Initiatives also provides education, programs and services to the Asian community. Being that Crystle is the spoke person for breast cancer, she gave a speech where she showed how important was for her this cause and being involved with it. I was very, very thankful for being there, I got to learn about this organization and the satisfaction of working with breast cancer survivors. Zang Toi was also there and he got a beautiful recognition for working so hard with the organization for so many years, and supporting them no matter what. After a week of not being bored at all, this Friday the girls and I had a photo shoot with Fadil, and than there is gonna be a good surprise for everyone who visits the web site www.missuniverse.com (if Crystle and Stevi didn’t already write what was the surprise about on their blogs :P) I hope you all like it :).
